The Klineline Kids Fishing Derby is an annual event in Vancouver, Washington, dedicated to introducing children to the joys of fishing and fostering an appreciation for the outdoors. Organized by the Klineline Kids Fishing nonprofit organization, the event aims to create future stewards of our fisheries by engaging youth in this rewarding activity.
The 2025 Derby is scheduled for April 11th and 12th at Salmon Creek Regional Park's Klineline Pond. Registration is currently open, and participants are encouraged to secure their spots promptly by registering online.
The event caters to children aged 5 to 14, offering them an opportunity to experience the thrill of catching a fish. Educational sessions led by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife and local fishing groups are also part of the program, aiming to teach participants about fishing techniques and environmental stewardship
Community involvement is a cornerstone of the Klineline Kids Fishing Derby. Local businesses and individuals are invited to support the event through sponsorships or volunteering, contributing to the success of this community-driven initiative.
