
About the Role
The Deck Supervisor is responsible for supervising and administering swimming lessons, coordinated instructor trainings and to communicate regularly with parents in order to provide quality swimming programs and services.
This position would work evenings and weekends. The main hours are from 2-8pm during the week and Saturdays from 8:30am-3pm or Sundays from 11:30-5pm. Schedule may vary.
Education:
High School Diploma, or GED (some college preferred)
Experience:
2 years Swim Instructor experience
Supervisory experience (preferred)
Customer Service Experience
Licenses / Certifications:
Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid (preferred)
Red Cross CPR
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
Ability to learn our Swim Program and adapt to our teaching methods.
Ability to swim and knowledge of swim programs
Knowledge of pool pump room operations
Ability to multi-task, make decisions easily and quickly
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Ability to resolve conflicts in a professional, tactful manner
Ability to build relationships with parents and children
Comfortable working with all age groups, including children
Strong problem solving and organizational skills
Requirements
Monitor check in and check out of swim lessons. This includes ensuring children are checked in and helping customers get to their swim class on time.
Ensure that teachers are teaching to Kids Club standards.
Communicate and create strong relationships with parents (and document) on a daily basis.
Communicate with instructors on a daily basis regarding class updates, schedule updates, new students, class management, child skill progression and overall group management.
Supervise swim instructors and ensure they are teaching quality lessons
Teach own set of lessons and/or fill in for staff that are out.
Update and review rosters daily to ensure parents are communicated with regarding level placement, time in level, absences and skill development.
Be liaison between instructors and parents regarding advancement and student progression. Communicate with parents to inform them on skill development and potential development.
Responsible for addressing complaints from customers and resolving problems in a customer service friendly way. Communicate with parents regarding excessive absences, issues and dropped classes.
Responsible for ensuring skill checks and progressions are being updated after lessons
Communicate with Aquatics Director on a daily basis regarding current or potential issues. Also to ensure that standards are met and ask for assistance when needed.
Pay: $17.00 – $19.00 an hour, depending on experience.
